Anđa

I was about sixteen years old when I took my father’s analog camera and started taking photos on my own. Every summer we would go to Prapratnica, situated in Bosnia & Hercegovina, to visit the grandparents from my mother’s side. It always felt like going to another world, everything was so different compared to our life in Germany, so unreal as time has stopped in this beautiful village.

Chasing around chickens, playing on the rooftop in the middle of the heat, sleeping in one room with all our cousins, seeing for the first time how the cow was being milked – all these cherished memories make up a big part of my childhood.

These collages are fragments from my grandmother‘s life and contain parts of my first work combined with more recent digital work.
